Linda is a second-year Urban Planning master’s student dedicated to supporting communities in building resilience and adapting to climate change. Being from Salt Lake City, Linda became interested in sustainability and climate adaptation from a public health perspective. After experiencing the poor air quality, and conducting research on health risk perceptions, Linda because passionate about working with communities to improve health and well-being. She received a bachelor’s degree in Health, Society, and Policy, with minors in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Utah. Prior to joining CJI, Linda worked with Illinois Extension to conduct a needs assessment for environmental justice communities to create a technical assistance center for coal transitioning communities. This sparked an interest in policy implementation and research that empowers communities to become part of the energy transition. Outside of research, Linda enjoys making new recipes, exploring outdoors, doing yoga, and playing with her cat.
