My name is Amy and I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in May 2023 with my Bachelors in Business, concentrating in Human Resources Management. I chose the MHRIR program at LER because I wanted to broaden my educational foundation in HR, learning from renowned professors, and getting connected to companies I would not have had opportunities with otherwise. It was a huge leap of faith moving across the country, but this program has made it worth it with the connections I have made. I’d love to speak with you about being an out of state student at LER and what a great decision it was to make this move. Feel free to reach out anytime at risner3@illinios.edu.

Hi! I’m Jose Chavez, I went to UIUC for undergrad and majored in Secondary Education and History, and I went on to teach high school social studies. I decided to leave the classroom and pursue a career in HR because I wanted to be able to make changes in the world on a larger scale, but I wanted to continue using the leadership and managment skills that I used as a teacher. As a first-generation Latin-American, I was really nervous to leave a career I felt safe in and go back to being a student. But since joining LER, I have found a community of professionals from such different backgrounds, and I feel much more confident in my career path. If you want to know more about my experince in this program, feel free to reach out to me at jchave57@illinois.edu
