Graduation is approaching fast, and we are incredibly proud of our spring 2024 graduating class! The LER convocation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at Lincoln Hall Theatre at 3 p.m. Graduates will line up in room 1092 prior to the ceremony. A reception will immediately follow at the School of Labor and Employment Relations. Of the thirty-two students graduating in May, we have one Ph.D. candidate and thirty-one MHRIR candidates from our online and on-campus programs.
Commencement Speaker – Sarah Krikorian
Sarah is the Chief Human Resources Officer for the American Lung Association, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy, and research.
After earning a B.S. from the College of Communications and a M.A. in Labor & Employment Relations from the University of Illinois, Sarah began her career at BP Amoco based in Houston and London, working with businesses in Western and Eastern Europe, South America, and the Middle East. During this time, she developed HR expertise in emerging market entry, cross border mergers and joint ventures. Later, she joined the HR function of Mercer and held a broad range of US HR leadership roles where she gained substantial experience leading change and organizational transition.
Ceremony
The Dean of the School, Ingrid Fulmer, will open the ceremony with remarks to the graduates. Sarah Krikorian, AM 91, will follow as our spring commencement speaker. Sarah has over 30 years of HR experience and is the Chief Human Resources Officer for the American Lung Association.
Preceding Sarah will be student remarks, presenting of the LER Faculty Teaching Excellence Award/Walt Franke Student Development Opportunity Fund, and we will finish off with the presentation of candidates.

The University-wide Commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:30 am in Memorial Stadium.
Regalia
Academic regalia is required to attend the ceremony. The deadline to order academic attire on the Herff Jones website and receive early order pricing is April 9 for the May ceremonies.
Graduates must RSVP for the ceremony by April 1, 2024.
