The LER Online Advisory Committee will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the online programs offered at the School.

The committee’s goals include fostering unity and connection among online program graduates; supporting current and prospective students through mentorship and guidance; providing resources for alumni through ongoing professional development; advocating for the School to enhance its profile and attract resources and new students; and promoting charitable giving to support the School’s programs and initiatives.

Fostering Collaboration and Community

The committee aims to cultivate a sense of unity and connection among graduates of the online program, creating a supportive network for alumni. By facilitating interactions between faculty, staff, students, and alumni, the committee creates opportunities for exchange of ideas, experiences, and resources.

Supporting Student Success

Engaging with current students to provide guidance, mentorship, and practical skills necessary for success beyond graduation.

Expanding Professional Development

Offering resources and opportunities for ongoing learning and skill development, ensuring that alumni stay competitive and relevant in their fields.

Advancing the School’s Interests

Acting as advocates for the School, helping to raise its profile, attract talented students, and secure resources for its continued growth and success.

Promoting Charitable Giving

Encouraging alumni to contribute their time, talent, and treasure thereby supporting the School’s programs and initiatives.

Committee Responsibilities

Time Commitment

Members will be appointed to a two-year term. Meetings will be held once per quarter via Zoom based on committee availability.

Financial Commitment

Minimum donation to LER of $250 per year during tenure on LER Online Advisory Committee. Gifts made to LER will be to support the online MHRIR program and its students. 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Serve as an advocate for LER in professional arenas to raise local and national visibility of the program
  • Provide feedback and input as needed for messaging and communication materials for the School
  • Assist in recruiting potential students through active contact via email or phone (launch online ambassadors’ program)
  • Act as regional advocate for local alumni; assist with alumni gatherings when appropriate
  • Nominate committee members as requested
  • Discuss ways to encourage LER online graduates to give back to the school
  • Support at least one online new student orientation (three scheduled each year)
  • Be a guest speaker in online courses
  • Offer feedback to the School on enhancing the program’s curriculum
