Raphael Ranola

Raphael Ranola is a Summer Scholar at the Climate Jobs Institute and a rising senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he studies Agricultural & Consumer Economics. His academic interests lie at the intersection of climate finance, international development, and energy economics.
Previously, Raphael served as Opinion Editor at The Daily Illini, where he led a team of student columnists and wrote editorials and op-eds. His passion for climate policy began with iSEE’s Environmental Leadership Program, and he now continues this environmental advocacy work through Students for Environmental Concerns, the University’s oldest environmental organization.
He’s excited to contribute to the Institute’s work and deepen his understanding of climate policy this summer. Outside of work, he enjoys reading — and pretension in general.
