Abhinav Banthiya is a Research Specialist at the Climate Jobs Institute. His research interests center on the intersection of environment and development, with a focus on enhancing the resilience of communities and households to the impacts of climate change. He is particularly passionate about studying the role of social protection programs in managing climate risks and making them more climate-smart.

Before joining CJI, Abhinav worked with various international organizations, including the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, the World Bank, and CARE, on projects related to social protection and public health. He holds an MA in Climate and Society from Columbia University’s Climate School, where he specialized in climate adaptation and resilience.
