Gentz worked in HR for General Electric as a member of the human resource leadership program after receiving his MHRIR at LER. He held roles in succession planning, employee relations, salary planning, and lean manufacturing. After GE, Gentz returned to LER to lead the School’s fundraising efforts, then transitioned into the Ph.D. program which he completed in 2014. His scholarly research on generations and role succession has appeared in Research in Organizational Behavior and the Academy of Management Review. Gentz served as the executive director of talent management for advancement at the University of Illinois from 2014-2016, before becoming the Director of People at Uptake.
