The Scholarship Reception is our event to honor student awardees and scholarship partners at the School of Labor and Employment Relations. ALL currently registered LER students are encouraged to attend and network with these partners in order to prepare for their coming interview schedules and events. This is the true kick-off to the formal recruiting season for all students!

Event Details
The event will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Wagner Education Center at the School. Each partner organization will have a table in the classroom or on the patio if weather allows. They will brand their organizations, share information about opportunities, and give away swag during this event.
Scholarship recipients attend the reception at 11 a.m. for the first hour of the event. At noon, all other LER students are welcome to join the event and learn about partner companies. We will assign you time slots at 20-minute intervals to keep a steady flow of candidates. Sign up in Handshake to be on the list and receive an assigned time. Students will receive grab-and-go snacks as part of this event.
Preparation
Attire for this event is business professional.
Each organization will have information shared via our social media channels on a “takeover” day where we highlight each organization. Watch the School on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or X to catch these takeovers. In addition, do your research online about our partner organizations prior to the event.
For your convenience, we will be sharing electronic resume books for all intern and full-time candidates prior to the event. You must work with Brian and Nell to ensure your resume edits are complete by August 30. You will not need to bring a paper resume to share on the day of the event, but you must make your resume shareable on Handshake in order to pull as part of these shared documents.
Scholarship recipients will be featured in a slide deck that will be available on our building screens, on our site, and electronically for our partner organizations. Share the requested information for those slides with Jerrica, as requested via email.

New students, please sign up for an LER headshot. Jerrica will be in touch and can put you on the list if you miss her email.
Complete your resume edits by August 30 in order to be included in the resume books shared electronically with employers. You will not need to bring a paper resume to the event.
Make your resume shareable in Handshake or it will NOT be part of the resume book shared with employers.
Company representatives include alumni and recruiting partners and may be new grads or executive level. Come prepared to network!
