Provide input on how your union is involved in clean energy work!

The Climate Jobs Institute is researching how Illinois construction and building trade unions are taking part in clean energy activities and programs.  Complete a survey or participate in a focus group discussion to help us understand how Illinois unions are planning for and participating in the clean energy transition. Your input will:

  • Help us understand the challenges and opportunities that unions face around clean energy work.
  • Provide guidance for state and federal clean energy programs.
  • Support union labor’s involvement in clean energy.

Who can participate?

The Climate Jobs Institute is inviting leaders of Illinois unions (locals, districts, or regional councils) in the construction and building trades to participate. Leaders may include:

  • Presidents
  • Business managers or financial secretaries
  • Vice presidents

We also want to hear from apprenticeship coordinators and classroom instructors.

How can I participate?

Participate in a focus group or interview and receive a $30 gift card

Join a discussion with other union leaders and apprenticeship coordinators about how unions are responding to the demand for clean energy activities. We’ll explore membership growth, recruitment, training, participation in clean energy programs, and planning for emerging clean energy technologies.

We are hosting Zoom focus groups at the following times. Email us to sign up and receive the Zoom link:

  • January 27 at 10:00 am CST
  • January 28 at 10:00 am CST

Complete a survey

The survey asks about your union’s involvement in clean energy activities and programs. It also asks for information about your union’s membership and how demand for clean energy work is impacting growth. Apprenticeship coordinators and classroom instructors will be asked how training has evolved to address new clean energy technologies.

Help us spread the word!
