The School of Labor and Employment Relations will hold the May 2022 convocation ceremony on Saturday, May 14, at 3:15 pm in Lincoln Hall Theater, 7102 S. Wright Street, Urbana. A reception will immediately follow in the LER building, 504 E. Armory, Champaign.

The School is excited to welcome back Andrea Frohning, MHRIR 10, as our May 2022 alumni speaker. Ms. Frohning is the Chief Human Resources Officer for Patterson Companies, Inc.

Academic Regalia is required for participation and students can order their cap and gown through Herff Jones (herrff.ly/illinois) until April 12, 2022 at a discounted rate. Students will be required to pay for their rental when they place their orders and regalia will be shipped directly to the address provided at time of order.

Additionally, the university-wide Commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 9:30 am in Memorial Stadium. Jill Ellis, who won back-to-back FIFA Women’s World Cups as coach of the U.S. Women’s National Team, will serve as the university-wide Commencement speaker in May 2022. She was previously head coach of the first Illinois women’s soccer team.

Current COVID-19 guidelines for University events do not require that attendees show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or a COVID-19 vaccination record to attend. Face coverings will not be required indoors or outdoors at Commencement Weekend ceremonies. Any updates to this guidance will be e-mailed to graduates and shared on the university’s COVID-19 Event Guidance website. Commencement will be livestreamed for individuals who are unable to attend in person.
